Description:

As dentists guiding our patients, we are often faced with restorative decisions that appear to be dilemmas: when to restore, extract and replace? When we choose to replace a tooth, do we choose implants or pontics? Which alternative offers an esthetic advantage, a functional advantage or cost advantage? This course will demonstrate how to surgically manage the soft tissue around a natural tooth, pontic, single implant, and two implants side by side. It will demonstrate soft tissue grooming with provisionals and impression making for the definitive restoration and cover managing soft tissue and biologic width around the BioHorizon implants utilizing the Laser-Lok® microchannels compared to flat top implants, scalloped implants or platform switching. This course includes a guided hands-on portion highlighting the BioHorizon Implant System.

Course Objectives:

-Communicate with patients when making difficult restorative choices

-Determine if a natural tooth may be predictably restored

-Surgically manage soft tissue around natural teeth, pontics, and implants

-Understand how biologic width is affected by implant design

-Become familiar with the BioHorizon implant system

The 2010–2011 Refer a Colleague program has begun! At the AGD, a growing membership means a larger network of experts, better member benefits and services, more career choices, and a stronger voice for the general dentistry profession. That’s why “Every Voice Counts” this year. To help foster this spirit, we’re now awarding credit for every active general dentist, affiliate, and associate member you recruit to the AGD, improving your chances of being named a Top Recruiter. The competition is sure to be tough this year, so start recruiting today!

Learn about how your efforts can get you free continuing education (CE) and more.

The AGD also acknowledges that without the help of each and every one of our recruiters, the Refer a Colleague program wouldn’t be the success that it is today. Since your voice counts every bit as much as each new member’s, we’ll give you one complimentary Self-Instruction exercise for each new member you sign up, a lapel pin that you can proudly wear as an AGD recruiter, and more as thanks for your efforts.

Recruit the most new members between now and April 30, 2011, to be named Top Recruiter and win your choice of a 32GB iPod Touch or free registration to the AGD 2011 Annual Meeting & Exhibits and an extra ticket to the AGD Welcome Reception.

Plus, learn more about our mid-program raffle!

For the Refer a Colleague mid-program raffle, recruit new members between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30, 2010, for a chance to win a $200 American Express gift card that can be used toward local continuing education (CE) events, AGD products, AGD 2011 Annual Meeting & Exhibits registration, membership renewals, and more. Remember, the more new members you recruit, the better your chances are of winning!
